(Big deal #4.) This is central to Christianity. It's even central to written human history - which is why history has been divided into BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini). Here’s how God dealt with our “sin” problem. He sent Jesus. That sounds simple, but it wasn’t. Initially, God created a system of sacrifices that the people could bring to his temple and offer on behalf of their sin. But that was a temporary system that looked ahead to a permanent solution (like a down-payment). God’s permanent solution was to send his own son, Jesus Christ, to be born of an earthly mother, to grow to be a teacher and healer, to live a sin-free life, and finally to willingly die on a cross as the only acceptable sacrifice (payment) for our sin. God’s incredibly generous gift of his son we call “Grace”, because we didn't do anything to deserve it. What’s my part? Simply to trust that Jesus’ sacrifice brings the forgiveness of my sin. That trust we call “faith”. And it's also our part to say thank you, because now my separation from God is gone. That’s the foundation of Christianity. https://biblehub.com/john/3-16.htm https://biblehub.com/ephesians/2-8.htm)
