Why does God love us?  Because he made us in his image. That’s another very big deal (#2). There’s something in our nature - the way we were created - that gives us special value in God’s eyes.  And that special value is why he loves us. This concept of being in God’s image is hard to put into words.  We are certainly not little gods, but there is something god-like in us that God identifies with, and that He loves. And the reverse is also true.  That “something” in us – that image - also draws us to seek God.  That’s why there are so many religions in the world, even among primitive societies; we naturally sense that there is something bigger than we are that deserves our allegiance. But the Bible tells us just who this God is, the one who calls himself our Father. https://biblehub.com/genesis/1-27.htm, https://biblehub.com/genesis/9-6.htm, & https://biblehub.com/matthew/6-9.htm .
