#0 - Introduction

My observation is that many people have little or no knowledge what Christianity really is.  But I think that if folks understood what really makes Christianity tick, they would feel very differently.  So my purpose for this site is to describe the key foundations of Christianity, based on my understanding of what the Bible teaches us.

My hope for these postings is threefold: (1) that it will open the door for non-Christians to consider for real this thing called Christianity, (2) that nominal Christians will see the value of a deeper walk with Christ, and (3) that committed Christians will see in these postings a framework for communicating their faith to others.

I don’t have theological training.  I do have a PhD in science, and 80+ years of experiences and observations.  I’ve been a committed Christian since my teen years, and I stake my life on the truths I have learned and observed.  It works, and I’ve seen it change many lives, especially in the 20 men from prison that I’ve mentored.  I’m a long way from perfection.  I don’t speak for any church or denomination.  But I intend to provide as true a picture as I am able.

Since this narrative is drawn from the Bible, Bible references will be included.  I recommend checking out what just the Bible says (in a printed Bible or on your smart phone, or click on the link provided).  And since the pieces of the overall story fit together, my comments will often refer to another posting.  For example, this introduction is #0.

I will attempt to answer honest, thoughtful questions.  If I don’t know, I’ll say so.  I hope you find this effort helpful for your own understanding.
